Senior Application engineer

Nikon Metrology develops a wide range of measurement systems for dimensional quality control deployed worldwide in automotive, aerospace, and other manufacturing industries. Nikon Metrology has 10 offices and production sites in 8 countries. We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Application Engineer based in Leuven – Belgium.

What is your role ?

You provide technical support in software and hardware solutions to the 2D Microscopy Sales Team to allow the Sales Team to spend more time on commercial accounts.

You will be involved in all stages of the presales process from offering Expert Automation Advice, Software Development, Hardware Integration, Demonstrations and Nikon Core Product management.

You will work in-conjunction with the Sales Management Team, maintain local centres of excellence and be aware of competitive solutions.

Key areas of responsibility

• Be a technical expert in the assigned product range and share this expertise with fellow Application Engineers.
• Discuss high level technical issues and solutions with new and existing customer’s in the pre-sales process and meet their technical requirements. Keep control over technical discussions with a clear sales strategy in mind.
  All technical explanation of the senior application engineer is focused on improving our competitive position.
• Drive and manage actively the pre-sales process in collaboration with the sales team.
• Deliver customer demonstrations, benchmarks, training and technical pre-sales support.
• Support the sales team for technical qualification and support them with in depth technical expertise.
• Developing solutions to meet customers’ requirements.
  You will not solely rely on existing knowledge and knowledge of more experienced colleagues, but you will actively research new possibilities and knowledge. By distributing new insights, you are seen as a reference in your domain.
• Developing and updating best practice usage of the equipment for internal and external customers.
• Project Management during each phase of the project. The senior application engineer could potentially be managing an entire project.
